Sophomore forward John Rivera took the penalty kick for the Mustangs and put in right past the Pirates’ goalie.

At half the Mustangs led the Pirates 1-0.

Coming out of half, the Mustangs looked to dominate the Pirates defensively and tried not to let in an equalizing goal.

They also look to score an insurance goal to give them breathing room.

Senior Ben Wilson did just that as in the 74th minute. He scored a goal that would give Lakewood Ranch the room they needed to finish off the Pirates.

“We played a great game against a good team and hopefully we can keep winning,” said junior goalie Liam Bramley

The Mustangs won their third straight district championship.
