(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Thursday night around 300 prospective Mustangs invaded LRHS eager to sneak a peek at what the school has to offer.
Stations and refreshments including hot dogs, cotton candy and performances by the LRHS dance team and Mustang Players filled the courtyard as the incoming freshman toured alongside their parents.
With mock passports in hand, potential freshmen travelled to different locations ready to learn about different clubs, sports, and classes at the Ranch.
“We had a great turnout,” said LRHS Discipline Dean Michael Escorcia.
Assistant Principal Dr. Melinda Lundy said the families were anxious to discover everythign they could about LRHS.
“Interestingly, along with some very eager parents of 8th grade students, we had a number of families with 7th graders who were asking very thoughtful questions about the transition to high school,” she said.
Incoming freshman Elizabeth Soucie is looking forward to beginning high school at Lakewood Ranch.
“There were so many interesting things to see, I’ve never been more excited to start a new school year.”
