(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The Lady Mustangs Varsity soccer team is heading into the regional quarter-final 7 p.m. Thursday at Ft. Myers Gulf Coast High School.

Junior Julia Ortiz said, “winning this game means a lot to our team. This game will help us get a step closer to going to states and that’s our main goal this year!”

Last Friday the Lady Mustangs had lost their first game of the season to the Venice Indians 4-0. The Mustangs may have a chance to redeem themselves and meet Venice agin in the regional final if both teams advance that far.

Last year The Lady Mustangs had made it to the state final four and lost to Melbourne. Their record was 22-1-1.

This year their record is 18-1-2. They’re striving to make it back into states and hopefully become state champs.
