(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The big day has finally come for the LRHS class of 2014. The seniors graduated Friday at the Bradenton Area Convention Center.

Principal Linda Nesselhauf and class president Kelly Miller presided over the event as 442 seniors walked across the stage and into the future.

Numerous outstanding seniors were recognized at the ceremony, including Marina Masterson, Christopher Pearcey and Cole Slade, the three Lakewood Legends inducted into the student hall of fame.

Miller thinks that the class of 2014 left a mark at LRHS, “We have many outstanding individuals that excelled in certain aspects of the school community.”

The LRHS class of 2014 conducted 48 thousand hours of community service over the past four years, and was awarded $3 million in scholarships.

A school survey released last week said 156 graduating seniors are going directly to a four-year college or university in Florida, 42 are going to a four-year college or university out of state.

One-hundred-thirty-one students are going to a community college, 13 are going to the military, and 14 are going straight into the workforce.
