(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Once the Mustangs move their tassels to the left on May 30, 2014, the real fun begins.
Caps and gowns will be thrown to aside and traded for summer attire. One of the most memorable days in life will be celebrated in many different ways by members of the class of 2014.
Christina LeForge and Kiana Long are going on a three-day cruise to the Bahamas and Mexico starting June 15.
Courtney Hartman is focused more on the bigger picture.
“Since I’ve already started at State College of Florida Manatee-Sarasota,” she said, “I’m going to finish my AA degree and then transfer to UCF to finish my masters degree in forensic science.”
Hartman has already sent out her graduation announcements through Vistaprint.
“It’s all starting to feel real now. I feel excited and nervous about moving on from high school and going out into the real world,” she said.
There are many seniors who have no plans and are just going with the flow.
John Akar said, “I haven’t sent out my announcements yet and don’t have any definite plans for after graduation. I’m just trying to enjoy the time that I have left instead of stressing about the future.”
Joe Black has a different view on things.
“I’ve had a great time in high school and made a lot of friends, but I’m excited for graduation and looking forward to going to USF,” he said. “It’s going to be hard leaving some people behind but I change and I think I’ll adjust well to living away from home. It’s going to be fun and I’m excited to see what happens.”
The 2013-14 school year is coming to an end and for their first time, Mustang seniors are looking forward to more than just a summer off.
