(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – National Teacher Appreciation Week, May 5-9, was sweet for LRHS teachers.
Instructors received gifts of candy throughout the week. According to LRHS Principal Linda Nesselhauf, the school’s, “Magnificent and Marvelous” staff members deserved rewards of various candies (like M&Ms), including, Nestle’s Crunch, 100 Grand bars and Jolly Ranchers.
Nesselhauf expressed her “thanks, appreciation and support” for the LRHS staff. “You do an amazing job every day.”
Manatee School Superintendent Rick Mills and School Board Chair Julie Aranibar announced their appreciation for the support, passion, professionalism, and hard work of teachers, stating “Teachers make public schools great and work to open student’s minds to ideas, knowledge, and dreams.”
A school board proclamation announced, “Teachers keep American democracy alive by laying the foundation for good citizenship. They also fill many roles as listeners, explorers, role models, motivators, and mentors, and continue to influence us long after our school days are only memories.
“We urge that we observe this day by taking time to recognize and acknowledge the impact of teachers on our lives.”
