(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS prom had a great turn out this year, with over 560 people attending. The Great Gatsby theme really took over and gave everyone a 1920’s vibe in the ballroom.
The May 2 dance featured a flash mob performance by the drama department and a special appearance by popular former LRHS Assistant Principal Dr. Tom Zellers (now at Southeast High).
Seniors Amy Alvarez and Kyle Sailer were named prom king and queen. Teachers nominate students for that title and students are given the chance to vote at the dance. The winners were announced a little more than half way through the dance.
Junior Samantha Karl said, “The flashmob really made the prom. The whole night was great, but that really made it feel like a special 1920s event.”
LRHS Junior Advisory Board officials and school administrators thank everyone who attended and made it a very successful and safe night.
