(LAKEWOOD RANCH,FL) – Lakewood Ranch digital imagery students certainly have talent. That’s the view of the Manatee County School Board, at least.
Digital Imagery Mustangs had the opportunity to enter a contest to determine the new logo for Manatee County Public Schools. Students had a week to design, create, and submit their logos.
The top five selected were all from Lakewood Ranch. They include Abigail Vigna (sophomore), Ian Matheson (freshman), Jacob Bonrtreger (freshman), Sierra Amato (sophomore), and Samantha Milazzo (freshman). Vigna is currently in first place.
“I was inspired by the beach and I tried to embody the spirit of Manatee County,” said Vigna. She has a passion for graphic design and plans to go to study it further at a fine arts college.
Although there is no prize, the winner will have the privilege of having their design serve as the official Manatee County logo. The voting will be continuing through the March 23.
The purpose of this contest was to create a fresh new stylish logo to represent the school district on the new district website.
The contest was open to all middle, high, and post-secondary students enrolled in Manatee County public schools. Their logos had to be original and reflect the character of Manatee County Public Schools. The logo had to feature the words “Manatee County Public Schools.”
This contest helped students to be inspired by Manatee County and give back to it.
