(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS Color Guard earned a superior rating on their music performance assessment Feb. 8 at Braden River High School.

LRHS Sophomore and Color Guard member Sam Illes said, “I feel very proud for being a part of such an amazing team. It has been a great experience and I’ve made so many new friends.”

Color Guard is a team of students who manipulate flags, rifles, and sabers while dancing in order to create breath-taking performances beside the LRHS Marching Mustangs and in their own independent shows.

“Earning a superior really showed that all of our hard work over the season has payed off,” said Illes.

Due to their superior rating, the LRHS Color Guard will be hitting the road during Spring Break in order to compete in the state competition. It will be held at Robertson High School in Tampa.
