(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS Silver Stars Dance Team is off to a great 2014. There are many competitions and events scheduled for this year. There are 12 members on the team, and they’re thrilled to represent their school with spirit.

The Silver Stars just performed at “Grand Ovation” on Lakewood Ranch Main Street.

Sophomore Angela Gennocro said, “The team did eight different routines at ‘Grand Ovation’, and overall I think we did very well. I’m excited to go to competition in a few weeks.”

The end of the season competition is in March at Seminole High School. This is the team’s main competition. One other major competition is the “Yes We Can Dance” event.

“Yes We Can Dance” takes place in the State College of Florida Manatee/Sarasota auditorium. High schools and middle schools from all over Manatee County come together to show off their skills.

Sophomore Sierra Amato says, “This is our first year going to an end of the year competition so I’m really excited. We have great dances on the way, and even got a new choreographer.”

The Silver Stars perform at a variety of community functions yearround. Members on the team earn community service hours during their performances. The Silver Stars also perform at LRHS sporting events.

Their next community performance is the “Our Lady of then Angels 2nd Annual Festival” which is held at Premiere Soccer Fields on Sunday, Feb. 16, at 1 PM.
