(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Prom….one of the biggest nights of the year for high school students. Its also one of the strictest when it comes to dress code.
“Prom is a formal opportunity for young adults to look professional and formal. It is also a representation of our school and community,” said Assistant Principal Mike Mullen.
Lakewood Ranch will have a dress code check station at the entrance to the prom. Students will not be allowed into the dance if their clothing does not meet the dress code. The prom dress code is available at the school’s website. Students will not be refunded for their ticket if they are not in dress code.
“We want the people staying at the Hyatt to look at us as a school and say that we are a classy, elegant and fine group of students. Prom is not a place for cocktail party dress or bodycon type wear,” added Mulllen.
With both girls and boys required to meet a strict, formal dress code, looking classy and elegant is the main idea for the Lakewood Ranch 2014 prom.
“We look forward to prom, as administrators, teachers, and staff members. It is one of our favorite nights because the kids just look amazing, we are proud to know them and proud to associate with them,” said Assistant Principal Valencia Lowen.
Anyone with a question about what to wear can bring a picture to a school administrator to make sure it is acceptable before purchasing the dress or tuxedo.
