Mustang seniors getting ready to gallop away

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – It’s the last thing most seniors want to hear this time of year…get to work. Seniors are busier then ever with deadlines, graduation, and events going on all around the school.

Calendars were handed out to all seniors so they would schedule their time wisely.

LRHS senior class adviser Ann Fluery said,”Seniors really do have a lot to keep them busy this time of year.”

It doesn’t all have to be hard work, however. Seniors also have Gradbash at Universal Studios and the big senior luncheon to look forward to. Senior privileges are another treat for stressed out seniors, and snacks are given to seniors during school throughout the year.

Gradbash rules and dress code were passed out to all seniors at a class meeting Wednesday morning, and LRHS administrator remind all seniors that yoga pants are not permitted unless a top is worn that drops below the knees. All dresses and pants must also fall below the knees. Fleury stressed that the dress code will be strictly enforced.

Fleury reminds the seniors that there is still a lot of deadlines to remember. Those deadlines are updated regularly on the LRHS Senior Activities webpage.

“The biggest thing that I have to repeat every year is to remember to order cap and gowns and pay senior fees,” said Fleury.

The price for cap and gowns goes up the longer a student waits, so seniors are urged to order as soon as possible. Graduation practices are an important part of putting the actual event together, and attendance is mandatory.

Seniors definitely feel the the stress.

Josheph Grosso said,” I feel like I’m running around like a chicken with its head cut off. It’s the most stressful yet satisfying part of my high school experience.”
