Mustangs react – Who’s going to the Super Bowl?

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The final round of the NFL playoffs takes place this weekend, as the Denver Broncos play the New England Patriots for the AFC Championship, and the Seattle Seahawks play the San Francisco 49s for the NFC crown.

Sophomore Chris Schilson believes that the Broncos will prevail in their game this week, saying that, “[Denver quarterback]Peyton Manning is having an MVP season. Nothing can stop him. I also think the Seahawks quarterback Russell Wilson will pull through to beat the 49’s.”

Freshman Martin Perez also believes the Broncos and Seahawks will win their conferences. “I can see it now. The Broncos’ amazing offense against the Seahawks’ all-star defense. That would be a game to watch.”

Senior Breana Buck agrees that the Seahawks are definitely Super Bowl contenders, but she favors New England quarterback Tom Brady and the Patriots over Denver. “The Patriots are having one of the best seasons in their organization. They will win.”

Not all LRHS students are big on football, as Junior Owen Norris is not interested in this year’s big game. “What I look forward to about the Super Bowl is the parties. I could care less who plays in the game.”
