(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The annual LRHS Philly Football Game was played on Wednesday, December 11th. All proceeds from the game went to the Boy’s Baseball team.
The LRHS Junior girls team defeated the Freshman 14-0. Junior Megan Wolf scored one touchdown, while Briana Bujnowski scored the other.
In the second game of the night, senior Alex Latham scored two touchdowns in the Senior’s 14-0 shut out of the school’s sophomores.
Playing for third place, sophomores won a convincing 21-7 game over the freshmen. Sophomore Crystal Brown ran for one touchdown, and also caught a scoring pass from her twin Caitlyn. Sophomore Maddie Biggs ran for another touchdown. Freshman Katie Stincer threw a touchdown pass to Mckenzie Meyers.
The first place game was a hard-fought and close 14-7 victory for the seniors. Leading the way, Alex Latham scored once more. Senior Lacey Weireichs ran an interception back for a touchdown. Junior McKenzie Maasdorp ran in a touchdown to end the scoring.
Freshman Sarah Lamoreaux was excited to get out on to the field, “Even though we didn’t do that well this year, I’m definitely looking forward to playing next year.”
