(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – LRHS Filly Football is about to start. This is popular annual fundraiser is sponsored by the LRHS baseball team that features a flag football championship open only to girls.

Registration is Nov. 18 – Nov. 22. Registration forms are available during all lunches in the school cafeteria. The fee is $25, and includes a jersey and headband. Players will not receive jerseys and numbers until completed consent forms and registration fees are turned in. Jersey numbers are available on a first-come-first-serve basis.

There will be two practices before the Dec. 11 game to get acquainted with teammates and go through plays. Players must attend at least one practice in order to participate. Practices will be held on the field behind LRHS.

Sophomore Sofia Lanza says, “I did Filly Football last year and it was really fun. I’m really excited to do it again this year.”

Junior Brendan Lewellen says, “I’m excited to see everyone who comes out and takes part in Filly Football.”

The practices will be on 3-5 p.m. Dec. 4 and 1-3 p.m. Dec. 8.
