(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Tiffany Knight is thrilled to be a new teacher at LRHS. She teaches Algebra and describes her time at the school as refreshing and new.

Although new to the Ranch, she’s not new to teaching. She has been in education since 2002 and was a long term substitute at Manatee County’s Central High School last year, shortly after moving from Ohio.

Knight went to Franciscan University in Steubenville, Ohio and graduated with a degree in Math Education for grades 6-12.

Knight is still adjusting to teaching at LRHS.

“I moved from Central high school, so my approach has changed greatly. Central is a last resort school like Horizons, where students are poorly motivated. If they’re sent to Central, it’s mostly just to get through high school or make up failed classes,” she exclaimed. “Students have more freedom here, because they actually want to learn, it makes teaching so much more rewarding.”

Her students have only good things to say.

“I think she’s a great teacher, she makes things easier to learn” freshman Megan Hough said.

Freshman Myriam Neives agreed.

“Her teaching style is unique, I really enjoy it”.
