(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – A late inning grand slam for the Boston Red Sox against the Detroit Tigers put the team into the 2013 World Series to face the National League champion St. Louis Cardinals.

The Red Sox won the deciding American League championship game 5-2.

Who will Mustangs lean towards now that the hometown Tampa Bay Rays are out of the post-season?

Freshmen Devon Twenty said, “I am going towards St. Louis.  I just can’t make myself root for the Sox.”

Sophomore Hailey Todoroff said, “I wouldn’t mind if either team won or lost since my home team is no longer playing.”

A decisive Mark Simat, junior, offered, “I hope the Red Sox lose.”

Senior Aaron Lambent doesn’t share his classmates’ anti-Red Sox bias, “I grew up in Massachusetts, so of course i’m for the Sox. I am so thankful for those grand slams. I would have hated to see Detroit win.”

Game 1 of the World Series starts 8:07 p.m., Wednesday, at Boston’s Fenway Park.
