(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The LRHS boys golf team has secured a spot in the state championship tournament…again.
The Mustangs are going to the Class 3A State Golf Championship after winning the region championship for the fourth straight time in Venice, improving their 2013 record to 137-5.
Senior Ramsey Touchberry won the title of Region 5 Champion for the second year in a row and also scored an 7-under-par 65 at Venetian Golf and River Club. Senior Danny Walker had a 71, junior Luke Miller a 73, and sophomores Kelly and Charlie Sun added a 75 and 76 to assist the Mustangs to the lowest ever region total of 284.
Head Coach Dave Frantz said,”The team will be going for a true high school athletic rarity: achieving 3 State Championships in a row.”
The championship tournament will be at the Mission Inn Resort in Mount Dora Nov. 4-6.
