Friends, Romans, Countrymen…lend me your peanut butter

Natalie Earp – LRHS News

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL)- The LRHS Latin club is ready to spread love and Peanut Butter.

The club is hosting a school-wide peanut butter drive. The ongoing drive will run through Oct. 25. The jars of peanut butter will be donated to the Manatee County Food Bank.

Jars will be collected in first period classes. The class with the most jars will receive a donut party sponsored by the Latin Club.

“Peanut butter is the most wanted item in food banks across Florida,” said LRHS Latin Club Sponser Anya Grady. “We need to build up the shelves. Peanut butter is full of protein and is easily stored and shipped.”

Grady and fellow Latin teacher Susan McDonald want teachers to keep jars in their classrooms until students come to collect them Oct. 25. Any teacher who needs the peanut butter picked up before then should contact McDonald.
