MUSTANGS AHEAD

End of quarter means stress and study

(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – The end of the first quarter has arrived at LRHS. With students trying to put in their last ounce of work and teachers trying to grade every last assignment, its ends up being a very busy last week.

With students being busy with sports, jobs, and homecoming week being the week before the quarter ends, they find it difficult to fit everything in.

Senior Sara Vaught said, “its so stressful trying to get my grades the way i want them, especially when its my senior year and most colleges want my grades from first quarter.”

Teachers will be at school on Monday for record day, to give them an extra day to do all the grading necessary to be on time for the report card deadline. That gives students another three day weekend so they can settle down from all the stress they just had to put in the last week. They have to wait for all the grades to be updated and then comes the moment of truth.

Junior Chad Rex says, “I’m so glad we have a three day weekend, there’s no way i would be able to come to school on Monday and deal with a ton of school work. I’m glad i get a little day break from all of the craziness.”
