(LAKEWOOD RANCH, FL) – Forget law and order, LRHS’s Lisa Albano loves flora and fauna.
Albano is a new member to the LRHS Science Department. She teaches biology and enjoys every minute of it, but before she discovered a love for teaching she practiced law for 12 years.
She has a biology and law background and decided to combine the two and practiced heath law for over a decade. She discovered her love for teaching as she taught eight years of health law courses.
When she discovered her love for teaching, she changed her career choice and went off to become a full-time teacher. She received her teaching degree from New Jersey’s Rowan University.
Albano said teaching high school has been an adjustment, “It’s very different and it’s fun to see all the students have so much school spirit.”
She enjoys Lakewood Ranch very much and loves to see the students each and everyday.
Her favorite part about her first few weeks at the Ranch was homecoming week because of all the fun costumes that students dressed up in.
Science is her strong point but she would be open to teaching in a different field. She enjoys science because it’s interactive and it sparks interests amongst all her students. Science is very hands on, which many other fields are not. Albano loves that science can directly relate to the real world, which makes biology even more exciting to teach.
